Cienne was awarded second place for its participation in the business incubator!
“The audience was in for a special surprise. Rachel Espersen of Lexus announced that based on the strength of the finalists, two brands would be awarded prizes this year. Cienne’s Nicole Heim and Chelsea Healy were commended for their outstanding progress throughout the program, and their brand was named runner-up and awarded $10,000 to continue to prioritize sustainability in their company.
“This year the C/LF*I initiative was intended to provide the designers with unique industry experiences to work toward their goal of developing a more sustainable business,” Espersen said.
Highlights of this year’s program included a visit to the Eileen Fisher factory, a course on sustainability at NYU’s Stern business school, and a trip to Copenhagen to attend the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, which included a one-on-one meeting with designer Stella McCartney.”

Deliberately discerning (practically poetic), Cienne is a ready-to-wear collection for women who value pieces that are both interesting and necessary. Expressively understated and boldly subtle, the collection finds balance in a dualistic approach.
Founded in 2014 by designers Nicole Heim and Chelsea Healy, Cienne is made in New York and with each new collection, builds upon a foundation of refined shapes, considered details, and artisanal materials designed to maintain relevance over time.
Cienne was the recipient of the runner-up prize in the 2018 CFDA + Lexus Fashion* Initiative, and was a semi-finalist in the 2018/19 International Woolmark Prize. The brand is worn by influential women and celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Watson, and Naomi Watts.
