Two weeks prior to #AmrefArtBall, we unveiled the art auction with our partner, A/D/O. Featuring contemporary artists from across the African continent, artists included Lina Iris Viktor, Paul Onditi, Odili Donald Odita, and Esther Mahlangu, among others. Co-curator Atim Annette Oton hosted walkthroughs over opening weekend, and the auction simultaneously launched online via Artsy.
As a newer genre for the platform, Artsy stats for the auction exceeded expectations: 16K pageviews, bids from North America, Europe, Middle East and nearly $71K raised.
The auction ran through the event on April 28.
